COCHLEAR IMPLANT


A small electronic device that electrically stimulates the cochlear nerve (nerve for hearing) is known as a COCHLEAR IMPLANT . The implant has 2 parts external and internal parts. The external part sits behind the ear which picks up sounds via microphone and is transmitted to the internal part of the implant which stimulates the cochlear nerve .

HEARING & VERTIGO


The inner ear controls Hearing & aspects of movement, which means any disruption can disturb a person’s ability to walk or balance properly. There are Various causes for dizziness (it is also known as vertigo). but it could potentially be Meniere’s disease, an inner ear disorder due to increase pressure in the labyrinth , its usually associated with tinnitus & hearing loss — you need treatment.

Hearing loss - Inability to hear sound/speech . It is of various grades mild, moderate, severe, profound. There are various causes of Hearing loss . when a patient with hearing impairment may have problems understanding speech it suggests of a nerve problem . while those with moderate deafness may need a hearing aid.

Some people are severely deaf and rely on lip-reading to communicate with others. People who are profoundly deaf can hear nothing at all and can find themselves totally reliant on lip-reading or sign language.
